CBAM data inventory: a free 12-month workbook for your plant

A verified emissions figure is only as good as the monthly records behind it. List your goods, fuels and bought-in steel or aluminium, and download an Excel workbook with a sheet for each, formulas included, and the EU default value for each good to compare with. Nothing you type leaves this browser.

Why 12 months of records

Your EU buyer can declare your real emissions instead of the default value only after an accredited verifier has checked them. The verifier checks each figure against invoices, meter readings and production logs, so missing months cost time and money. Collecting the records month by month from the start is the cheapest way to get there.

How to fill it in

  • Blue cells are for you. Leave a cell empty rather than guess.
  • Enter each fuel in the unit on the invoice, and its net calorific value per that same unit.
  • Take precursor figures from your supplier's Communication Template. Without a verification report covering the period, the EU default value applies instead.
  • The per-tonne figure on the Summary sheet is a rough check for a plant that makes one good. For several goods, or for the figure you send your buyer, use the emissions calculator.

Next: work out your figure with the emissions calculator, describe how you measure in the monitoring plan builder, and gather the evidence with the verification checklist.
