  • Specific embedded emissions in tonnes of CO2e per tonne of goods, calculated under Annex IV to Regulation (EU) 2023/956.
  • For iron, steel and aluminium goods only direct emissions count towards CBAM. Indirect emissions are given for information.
  • EU default: the value for the country of production in Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/2621, including the mark-up for 2026.
  • This summary does not replace the installation operator's emissions report or the verification report, which are available on request.

What your buyer needs from you

From 2026 the EU importer declares the embedded emissions of every CBAM good it buys. If you send nothing, it must use the EU default value plus a mark-up, which rises from 10% in 2026 to 30% from 2028. Lower, verified figures from you cut its CBAM cost, and make you the easier supplier to buy from.

This summary gives the figures at a glance. Your buyer still needs the emissions report from your installation and, from the first declaration, the verification report. Send those with it or on request.

Which basis to choose

Actual, verified
Your own figures, checked by an accredited verifier. The only actual figures a buyer can use in its declaration.
Actual, verification pending
Your own figures, before verification. Useful for planning and contracts, but the buyer can't declare them yet.
EU default value
You have no figures for this product, so the EU default value for your country applies.
